Do you remember reading that story, or having it read to you? When we were young I'm sure the moral of the store was lost on us, but I remember it now!
Yesterday we needed to drive to Kamloops for an eye appointment (3.5 hour drive). Shortly after we left Valemount we got passed by an SUV going at least 115 klm/hr in a 100 klm speed zone. Hubby does speed a bit too, but usually only 5 klms/hr over the posted limit.
Well, 1/2 an hour later we caught up to that SUV, it was stuck behind some traffic. Didn't take long and it passed the vehicles again and was gone. We caught up to it 2 more times in the next 1.5 hours, it got to Clearwater (2 hours from home) about 2 miles before we did, but will have used a lot more fuel getting there.....
You see people like this in the cities and towns as well. They pass you at high speed, only to stop at the next red light as you pull up beside them. Don't get me wrong! I used to be the "hare" when I was young. Then I got pregnant with our first child and that was the end of speeding.
Thanks to people who drive like this the fuel companies never have to worry about going out of business lol
Fuel prices! A whole other topic for discussion.... but I will say this: What would happen if everyone didn't drive for a whole week? hmmmmmm
