Blanket Challenge 3

MATERIALS

  • Bernat Cozy Style (100% Acrylic, 1015 yards / 928 meters, 16 ounces / 454grams) 1.5 skeins

  • Other Yarn Options: any worsted weight (#4) yarn.


HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US H8 / 5.00 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

GAUGE

  • N/A


FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

  • 42” x 42”


PATTERN KEY (US Terms)

  • alt dc3tog = alternate double crochet 3 together

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • dc2tog = double crochet 2 together

  • fsc = foundation single crochet

  • sc = single crochet

  • sc2tog = single crochet 2 together

  • Ch 1 spaces do not count as stitches.

 

INSTRUCTIONS


Row 1: fsc 161 (or any multiple of 16 + 1).

Optional Row 1: ch 162 (or any multiple of 16 + 2), sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and each ch across. (161 sts)


Row 2: alt dc3tog, dc in the next 5 sts, 5 dc in the next st, dc in the next 5 sts * dc2tog, skip 1 st, dc2tog, dc in the next 5 sts, 5 dc in the next st, dc in the next 5 sts * across until 3 sts remain, dc3tog.


Row 3: ch 1, sc in the first 16 sts, * sc2tog, sc in the next 15 sts* across, sc in the last st.


Row 4: alt dc3tog, ch 1, skip 1 st, (dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st) twice, 5 dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, (dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st) twice, * dc2tog, skip 1 st, dc2tog, ch 1, skip 1 st, (dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st) twice, 5 dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, (dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st) twice * across until 3 sts remain, dc3tog.


Row 5: ch 1, sc in the first st, sc in the next ch sp, (sc in the next st, sc in the next ch sp) twice, sc in the next 5 sts, sc in the next ch sp, (sc in the next st, sc in the next ch sp) twice, * sc2tog, sc in the next ch sp, (sc in the next st, sc in the next ch sp) twice, sc in the next 5 sts, sc in the next ch sp, (sc in the next st, sc in the next ch sp) twice * across, sc in the last st.


Row 6: alt dc3tog, dc in the next 5 sts, 5 dc in the next st, dc in the next 5 sts * dc2tog, skip 1 st, dc2tog, dc in the next 5 sts, 5 dc in the next st, dc in the next 5 sts * across until 3 sts remain, dc3tog.


Row 7: ch 1, sc in the first 16 sts, * sc2tog, sc in the next 15 sts* across, sc in the last st.


Repeat Rows 2 - 7 until desired length. Change colors whenever you want.
