Blanket Challenge 4

If you use this FREE pattern, the challenge is to create at least 1 blanket that you donate to the charity of your choice.

BLANKET CHALLENGE 4


MATERIALS

  • Red Heart Comfort (100% Acrylic, 649 yards / 593 meters, 12 ounces / 340 grams) Color: Washed Teal - 3 skeins

  • Other Yarn Options: any worsted weight yarn.


HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US I9 / 5.5 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

GAUGE

  • 9 stitches = 4”, first 8 rows = 4”


FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

  • One size: 49 x 54”


PATTERN KEY (US Terms)

  • altch2 = alternate chain 2

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • fsc = foundation single crochet

  • sc = single crochet

  • slst = slip stitch

  • sp(s) = space(s)

  • st(s) = stitch(es)

PATTERN NOTES

  • * * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks.

  • Turn at the end of each row.

  • The chain 1 spaces do not count as stitches.

  • The chain 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.

 

INSTRUCTIONS


Row 1: fsc 147 (or any multiple of 4 + 3)

Optional Row 1: ch 148 (or any multiple of 4), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (147 sts)


Rows 2 & 3: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across.


Row 4: altch2, dc in the next st, * skip 1 st, V-ST in the next st, skip 1 st, dc in the next st * across, dc in the last st.


Row 5: altch2, 2 dc in the next st, skip 1 st, dc in the next ch sp, skip 1 st, * V-ST in the next st, skip 1 st, dc in the next ch sp, skip 1 st * across, 2 dc in the next st, dc in the last st.


Row 6: ch 1, sc in the first 5 sts, * sc in the next ch sp, sc in the next 3 sts * across, sc in the last 2 sts.


Rows 7 & 8: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across.


Row 9: ch 1, sc in each st across.


Repeat Rows 4 - 9 until desired length.


NOTE: I repeated 16 times.
