Many years ago I had a HUGE blog with thousands of followers. I would post almost every day, did lots of different give aways (from other companies), posted about crafting & had recipes. It just got to be too much, almost a full time job, so I stopped.
About 2 years ago I decided to start a website again. My interests are very different now, mostly crochet (& coffee lol), so it's harder to come up with stuff to write about daily. Even once a week can be a challenge!
Another designer I know, Tasha Reynolds of Stardust Gold Crochet started a Yarnie Hotlist and posts a video on Youtube with patterns, yarn etc she has found. I thought this might be fun though I don't do videos. It will just have to be on my blog :)
YARN
Last year I thought it might be fun to try a bunch of yarns I haven't tried before, lots of striped yarn. Purchased Caron Cake yarns (only to find out they are not making them anymore... why does this happen?), purchased some Yarnsmith's yarn, some new yarn by Premier (it's nice but each color is a different thickness), and some yarn from Knit Picks (thinner than I would like). Haven't really found a yarn that I can't live without. Because I live in the middle of nowhere Canada I have to order everything online. One thing I think I’ve learned about myself….. I like solid colors. The striped yarn is pretty, but I find it harder to create patterns with it.
Here are some of the projects I have finished with some yarns that were new to me. It's been a fun spring/summer of creating! I will try to do a blog post about the yarn as I publish the patterns.
