I will apologize for the photos, it was a cloudy day.
Boca Chica is about a 10 - 15 minute drive from Palacios. It's an interesting "village". All the roads are gravel. One of the first things you see is the Trading Post. It changed ownership in the summer. Last year we came here for lunch one day, will have to do that again now that they have 16 flavors of ice cream! It's a restaurant and store.
It's a good thing they aren't beside the campground! lol
Most the the "homes" here are campers under shelters. People come here in the summer and winter. It's actually a large village in land size with the homes scattered around.
There are some permanent houses as well.
It's quite close to the bay/ocean.
Old Main Bookstore
There is a cute little used bookstore in town. It's amazing how many books there are! The owner has also set up a section with some history about the town, the pavilion that used to be here, and the old hotel (more to come on those places another day). It's a coffee shop, "gift shop", and bookstore all in one place. What could be better?!
Because we have been to Palacios before, I brought some books along to give to the bookstore. Didn't realize I would get a credit at the store! So now when I buy a book there I only pay 50% until my credit is gone. I'd better get reading lol.
The jars on the counter in the above picture are full of different coffee beans. You can buy the beans or have a cup coffee from freshly ground beans.
I think I need the towel above and the metal art below!
Recycling pet food bags! What a cool idea!
That's it for today!
Thank you for reading my post :) I hope you have an awesome week!
The small green home reminds me of the old beach shacks rented out over summer by the sea when I was a child.
I love the updates of your travels.
