PATTERN NOTES
* * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks.
Working in the round, join with a slip stitch at the end of each round.
Ch spaces do not count as stitches.
The ch 1 at the beginning of the round does not count as a stitch.
The altch2 is counted as the first double crochet in the round.
INSTRUCTIONS
Round 1: fsc 83 (or any multiple of 6 + 5), join as per video link above. (84 sts)
Optional Round 1: ch 84 (or any multiple of 6), join without twisting the chain, ch 1, sc in the first ch and each ch around. (84 sts)
Round 2: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st around. Join. (84 sts)
Round 3: ch 1, sc in the first st, ch 4, skip 4 sts, * sc in the next 2 sts, ch 4, skip 4 sts * around, sc in the last st. Join.
Round 4 (RS): slst into the first ch sp, (altch2, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the ch sp, * skip 2 sts, (altch2, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the next ch sp * around. Join. TURN
Round 5 (WS): slst into the first ch sp, ch 1, 2 sc in the ch sp, ch 4, skip 4 sts, * 2 sc in the next ch sp, ch 4, skip 4 sts * around. Join. TURN
Rounds 6 - 17: Repeat Rounds 4 & 5.
NOTE: if you would like a wider cowl, repeat Rounds 4 & 5 until desired width.
Round 18 (RS): slst into the first ch sp, ch 1, 4 sc in the first ch sp, sc in the next 2 sts, * 4 sc in the next ch sp, sc in the next 2 sts * around. Join. (84 sts) DO NOT TURN
Round 19: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st around. Join. (84 sts)
Fasten off, weave in ends.
