Daybreak Wrap Crochet Pattern

It's October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I am offering this pattern for FREE.


Please pledge to create one shawl/wrap to donate to a cancer centre, or someone you know who might need a warm hug.

MATERIALS

  • Sidar Jewelspun (100% Acrylic, 546 yards / 500 meters, 200 grams) 2 skeins

  • Other Yarn Options: Any aran weight yarn.

HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US 7 / 4.5 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

GAUGE

  • 16 stitches = 4”, 8 rows = 4” (first pattern rows)

SIZES

  • One Size: 60” x 20”

PATTERN KEY (US Terms)

  • altch3 = alternate chain 3

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • M/C = magic circle

  • RS = right side

  • sc = single crochet

  • slst = slip stitch

  • st = stitch

  • sts = stitches

  • WS = wrong side

SPECIAL STITCHES & TECHNIQUES

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • Easy

NOTES

  • * * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks as many times as instructed.

  • Turn at the end of each row.

  • Ch sps do not count as sts.

  • The altch2 is the first st in the row.

INSTRUCTIONS


Row 1: fsc 81 (or any multiple of 2 + 1)

Optional Row 1: chain 82 (or any multiple of 2), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each chain across. (81 sts)


Rows 2 & 3: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across.


Row 4: altch2, dc in the next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in the next st * across, dc in the last st.


Row 5: altch2, 2 dc in the next st, * 2 dc in each st across * until 2 sts remain, dc in the last 2 sts.


Row 6: altch2, dc in the next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in the next st * across, dc in the last st.


Row 7: altch2, dc in the next st, * dc in the next ch sp, dc in the next st * across, dc in the last st.


Rows 8 & 9: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across.


Repeat Rows 4 - 9 until desired length.


Last Row: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across.


Fasten off and weave in the ends.
