We have been enjoying our time here. Every couple of days it rains and cools off a bit, then gets hot and muggy. Seems to be a cycle lol. The mosquitoes were insane the last couple of days. Last night a north wind came, it's crazy windy, so hopefully the mosquitoes have blown into the ocean.
Last weekend the town had their Christmas Festival. There was a decorated golf cart parade and a lighted boat parade. They had blow up bounce houses for the kids and a snow slide. Yes.... "snow". We happened to be out for our bicycle ride when they were making the snow by chopping up ice. The semi was full of bags of ice.
They had blow up things you would use in a pool for the kids to slide on down the "hill". I would say by the noise, they were having a great time.
The boat parade wasn't very long but still fun. Santa and Mrs. Clause were on one of the boats, got dropped off at the end of the pier, the given a ride on a golf cart to meet the kids.
There were a few more boats, but it's hard to take pictures of moving things in the dark.
Where is Palacios? We tell people it's on the Gulf of Mexico.... sort of.
When we go to Matagorda Bay or Port Aransas we are on the Gulf of Mexico. Hoping to make a day trip to Galveston. We went last year but it was so foggy we didn't see anything. It's amazing how much the weather changes out here.
We have been going for bicycle rides around town almost every day. This town knows how to decorate for Christmas! The week before Christmas we will go out on the motorcycle after dark and hopefully take photos of some of the places with crazy amounts of decorations.
That's it for today.
I hope everyone has an amazing week!
Sounds like an interesting place! Glad you are enjoying your time!
Such a great posting today. Good to hear this about where you are. We are on the north end of Texas and it’s cold here last night and today!
Habe a great Sunday and week. Enjoy Galveston!
I look forward to your updates. Thanks!!
Sure, sounds like you are having loads of fun and seeing lots of stuff. Texas can have some strange weather patterns, but I do not think they are as bad as Oklahoma; this state is Bi-Polar...LOL Are you staying in Palacios all winter?
