Scarf Challenge 13

MATERIALS

  • Bernat Premium (100% Acrylic, 360 yards / 329 meters, 7 oz / 198 g)

  • Other Yarn Options: Caron One Pound, Red Heart With Love, Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, Lion Brand Heartland, Red Heart Roll with It, Red Heart Super Saver, Caron Big Cakes, most #4 weight yarns.


HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US H8 / 5.00 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

SIZES

  • One Size: 52” x 8”


PATTERN KEY (US Terms)

  • altch2 = alternate chain 2

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • fsc = foundation single crochet

  • hdc = half double crochet

  • sc = single crochet

  • slst = slip stitch

  • sps = spaces

  • st = stitch

  • sts = stitches

  • TRX = treble X st


SPECIAL STITCHES & TECHNIQUES

 

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • Easy


NOTES

  • * * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks as many times as instructed.

  • Turn at the end of each row.

  • The altch2 & altch3 are the first sts in the rows.

  • The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a st.

 

INSTRUCTIONS


Row 1: fsc 28 (or any multiple of 6 + 4)

Optional Row 1: ch 29 (or any multiple of 6 + 5), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (28 sts)


Row 2: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across.


Row 3: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across.


Row 4: altch3, tr in the next st, * TRX * across until 2 sts remain, tr in the last 2 sts.


Row 5: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across.


Row 6: altch2, dc in the next st, skip 1 st, 3 dc in the next st, * skip 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st * across until 3 sts remain, skip 1 st, dc in the last 2 sts.


Row 7: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across.


Row 8: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across.


Row 9: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across.


Scarf: Repeat Rows 4 - 9 until desired length. Change colors on any sc row.

Fasten off, weave ends.


Infinity Scarf: Repeat Rows 4 - 9 until desired length, then repeat Rows 4 - 6. Change colors on any sc row. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing the ends together.

Fold in ½ with short ends together. Sew together or slst together.

Weave ends.
