Scarf Challenge 9

MATERIALS

  • Loops & Threads Impeccable (100% Acrylic, 285 yards/ 260 meters, 4.5 ounces / 127.5 grams) 2 skeins

  • OTHER YARN OPTIONS: Any #4 weight, worsted weight yarn.



HOOKS & SUPPLIES

  • Hook US I9 / 5.5 mm

  • Scissors

  • Yarn Needle

  • Measuring Tape

  • Stitch Marker (Optional)

  • N/A


SIZES

  • One size: 6” wide x 76” long

  • 2dctog = 2 double crochet together

  • altch2 = alternate chain 2

  • ch = chain

  • dc = double crochet

  • dc2tog = double crochet 2 together

  • dc2tog: YO, insert hook in st , pull up a loop, 3 loops on hook, YO hook, pull through 2 loops, YO, insert in next st, pull up a loop, 4 loops on hook, YO, pull through 2 loops, 3 loops on hook, YO, pull through all 3 loops.

  • dc3tog: YO, insert hook in st, pull up a lp, 3 lps on hook, YO, pull through 2 lps, YO, insert hook in next st, pull up a lp (4 lps on hook), YO, pull through 2 lps (3 lps on hook), YO, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a lp (5 lps on hook), YO, draw through 2 lps (4 lps left on hook), YO pull through all 4 lps left on hook.   • Cluster: 3 dc in the same st. (top of the dc3tog from the previous row)

NOTES

  • * * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks as many times as instructed.

  • Turn at the end of each row.

  • Ch sps do not count as sts.

INSTRUCTIONS


Row 1: fsc 231 (or any multiple of 4 + 3). (231 sts)

Optional Row 1: ch 232 (or any multiple of 4), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (231 sts)


Row 2: altch2, dc2tog over the next 2 sts, ch 3, dc2tog in the first ch of the ch 3, skip 1 st, * dc3tog, ch 3, dc2tog in the first ch of the ch 3, skip 1 st * across until 3 st remain, dc2tog, dc in the last st. (PHOTO BELOW)


Row 3: altch2, 2 dc in the next st, ch 1, skip the dc2tog from the previous row, * Cluster in the next st, ch 1, skip the dc2tog * across, 2 dc in the next st, dc in the last st. (PHOTO BELOW)


Row 4: altch2, dc in the next 2 sts, dc in the next ch sp, * dc in the next 3 sts, dc in the next ch sp * across, dc in the last 3 sts. (231 sts)


Row 5: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across. (231 sts)


Row 6: altch2, dc in the next st and each st across. (231 sts)


Row 7: ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across. (231 sts)


Rows 8 & 9 : Repeat Rows 6 & 7.


NOTE: if you would like a wider scarf add more repeats of Rows 6 & 7.


Rows 10 & 11: Repeat Rows 2 & 3.


Row 12: ch 1, sc in the first 3 sts, sc in the next ch sp, * sc in the next 3 sts, sc in the next ch sp * across, sc in the last 3 sts. (231 sts)


Fasten off, weave ends.
